Fans of "MasterChef" will have to wait another week to watch the cooking reality show. The acclaimed TV series has gone on a hiatus due to the ongoing Olympics Games. The latest instalment of the U.S. version of "MasterChef" will be aired next week, on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

When the next episode of the reality show is telecast, the top nine contestants will take part in a challenge that looks daunting. In Season 7 episode 12, the cheftestants will have to prepare a dish using simple ingredients.

So far, Shaun O'Neale has demonstrated his ability to work with a variety of ingredients and it appears that his flavour palate has developed. According to several reports, he could emerge as one of the top contenders in next week's episode.

However, Shaun could face stiff competition from Terry Mueller, who has impressed the judges since the start of "MasterChef" Season 7. The urban farmer from California can cook well, exhibit leadership skills and rise to any occasion.

Last week, Terry made four breakfasts during the Nutella challenge and suffice it to say that the audience and the judges were shocked equally. His win helped him choose the ingredient for the elimination challenge, during which Diamond was sent home.

If Terry does indeed continue to perform well, he could determine the fate of at least some of the contestants on "MasterChef." However, fans of the show will remember that even the strongest contenders have their worst days in the kitchen and have exited early.

Who do you think will win this year's "MasterChef"? Let us know in the comment section.

"MasterChef" Season 7 episode 12 goes on air at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Aug. 24, on Fox. You can live-stream the episode via FOX NOW
