A fire broke out on the sets of popular comedy show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" causing massive damage. No casualties were reported from the venue.

The incident occurred early Wednesday at Goregaon Film City in Mumbai. "Today morning at around 6.30 fire broke out on the set, but luckily no one was injured. Everybody is safe," a source from Film City told IANS.

It took almost five hours for fire tenders to bring the fire under control at Film City. According to reports, the sets were completely gutted by the blaze, causing worry for producers.

Kapil Sharma, host of the one a popular television show, visited the sets when he got the news of the incident.

The comedian took to Twitter saying, "V all r fine.thnks for ur concern..need ur best wishes..v wl b back for all of u..love u all."

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who was shooting for her upcoming film "Rambo Rajkumar", posted a photo on Twitter of the massive fire.

"Massive fire on the set next to my @RamboRajkumar shoot this morning! Hope no ones hurt," Sinha said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but a short circuit is suspected to have triggered the blaze.

"Till now, it is assumed to be a short circuit and we are trying to find out the exact reason behind the fire. We are also trying to figure out how we will shoot the further episodes at earliest as there is no other alternate sets where we can continue shooting. Thankfully, there is no harm to any crew member," The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
