Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV, which debuted as iV-4 concept and codenamed YBA, is confirmed to launch before the end 2015.

Confirming the news, the folks at Gaadiwadi.com snapped pictures of the upcoming Compact SUV in heavy camouflage. The spy pictures indicate that YBA will get DRL headlight and a large round fog lamp in front. The silhouette seems to be in line with iV-4 concept and the picture also makes it clear that the vehicle is less than four-metre long.

The production version, which is scheduled to be launched after the S-Cross launch, according to Maruti Suzuki's annual report of 2014-2015, is rumoured to look a lot like the new Suzuki Vitara. Some reports also suggest that the compact SUV would be called Vitara Brezza.

The vehicle is expected to use monocoque construction. Like other four wheelers in the market, including the brand's iconic Gypsy, the compact SUV will feature five apex front grills. The new SUV will also use the popular Swift platform, which is known for space and comfort.

The four-wheel drive system will be on offer and additionally, two airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) is also expected.

The YBA is expected to add the SHVS mild hybrid system that is going debut in India with Ciaz hybrid first followed by Ertiga Hybrid. This will be the sole engine option, reports Gaadiwaadi.

When launched, the compact SUV will be pitted against Ford EcoSport and the newly-launched Hyundai Creta.

Maruti will make use of the FAME Scheme introduced by the Central government offering incentives for electric and hybrid vehicles up to Rs 29,000. With the excise duty cut for sub-four metre cars also applied, Maruti Suzuki is likely to price the YBA very competitively around Rs 7 lakh.
