Although we have seen the test mule of YRA hatchback of Maruti before, this time, we witnessed the prototype of the model sans camouflage; and looking at the images, we don't think it will be long before the YRA hits the showrooms. The motor buffs at GaadiWaadi took the latest set of spy shots.

From the images, it looks like Maruti YRA hatchback is getting some serious modifications from the concept, iK-2, which was shown at the 2015 Geneva motor Show. YRA hatchback, a model which is poised to rival against the upcoming Honda New Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20, will be positioned above Maruti's popular hatchback Swift.

As we have known for some time, Maruti YRA hatchback is reportedly called 'Fronx', and the production of the model is underway in the country.

From a visual standpoint, the YRA looks quite classy with its swept back style and the front fascia of the model is seen flaunting chrome-underlined grille and head lamp cluster with DRLs (Day Time running Lights).

Inside the cabin, although it is not sure as yet what YRA hatchback has in store, reports suggest that the company would pack premium features steering-mounted controls, new music system with touchscreen, engine start stop button, engine start/stop button and reverse parking sensors.

Regarding the under the hood treatment of Maruti YRA, chances are that the model could be plonked with 1.0 litre three cylinder turbocharged engine and a 1.3 DDis diesel mill in its 90HP power form.
