As Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, is getting ready for the global unveiling of its new compact SUV Vitara Brezza at the Auto Expo 2016, more details about the model have started doing the rounds on the internet.

While the whispers in the auto corridors indicate that the new Vitara Brezza could get the premium tag and go to the Nexa floors, a report of Auto car India reveals that the new compact SUV is likely to be sold through regular dealerships of the company. The company aims to reach a wider audience with Vitara Brezza, whereas Nexa, the premium dealership chain of Maruti that came into existence with the premium crossover S-Cross, currently has its reach in only a few cities.

Maruti Vitara Brezza , popularly known by its codename YBA, was revealed through the first sketch image a day ago by the company announcing its arrival at the Auto Expo. The sub-four metre compact SUV, which has been going through rigorous tests for the past couple of months, was caught on camera countless times.

The image of the Vitara Brezza, which showed the side profile of the model, revealed its square wheel-arches and high shoulder-line, short overhangs and high ground clearance. Expected to be pitted against Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in India, the Brezza is expected to get features like key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).

The power is likely to come from 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. The Vitara Brezza could also get Maruti's latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology, which was debuted with the Ciaz SHVS.
