Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of its first compact SUV, the Vitara Brezza, on Tuesday, March 8. Ahead of the launch, the brochure of the vehicle has been leaked online. Though most of the information on the diesel-only powertrain has already been revealed at the product unveil in Auto Expo 2016, the fuel efficiency figure was unknown.
The leaked brochure by Carsizzler.com indicates the Vitara Brezza will return claimed fuel-efficiency of 24.3kpml. The Vitara Brezza attains this fuel efficiency from the200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that will churn out 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Other compact SUVs in the market the Ford EcoSport diesel returns 22.27kmpl and Mahindra TUV300 comes with 18.49kpml. This makes it clear that the Vitara Brezza will be the most fuel-efficient compact SUV when launched. The Vitara Brezza will also lead in comparison to the bigger SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta 1.4-litre diesel and the Renault Duster 84bhp deliver 21.38kmpl and 20.45kmpl, respectively.
The leaked brochure also indicates the variants and the features. The compact SUV will be offered in six variants: LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+.
LDi - Multi-information display, driver side airbag, music system with CD player and Bluetooth connectivity, front power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt steering, manual Air Con
LDi(O) - In addition to the LDi variant, ABS with EBD, dual airbags
VDi - In addition to the LDi variant, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, roof rails, 7 step interior illumination control, anti theft security system, reverse parking sensor, keyless entry, rear power windows. However, this variant will not feature ABS with EBD and front passenger airbag.
VDi(O) - In addition to the VDi variant, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags
ZDi - In addition to the VDi(O) variant, skid plates, chrome front grille, alloy wheels, piano black interior finish, chrome door handles (interior), projector headlamps, front fog lamps, rear wash wiper, steering mounted audio and calling controls, automatic AC and height adjustable driver seat.
ZDi+ - In addition to the ZDi variant, dual tone exterior colour options, integrated turn indicators at electrically foldable ORVMs, reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, voice command and navigation system, cooled glover box, front armrest, start/stop button, cruise control, auto headlamps and auto wipers.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the Vitara Brezza in nine exterior colour options that include monotone and dual tone. The dual tone colours Blazing Red with Midnight Black, Fiery Yellow with Pearl Arctic White, Cerulean Blue with Pearl Arctic White reserved for the top spec ZDi+ trim. The monotone colours are Pearl Arctic White, Premium Silver, Granite Grey, Blazing Red, Cerulean Blue, Fiery Yellow available with the rest of the trims.
