It seems after the initial excitement, the maiden offering from Maruti Suzuki's Nexa dealerships, the S-Cross sales isnot going in an upward direction. Within months after they were launched, the dealerships offered discounts up to 1 lakh in September and the company launched the Premia special edition early this month to increase sales.

A report from TeamBHP now claims the dealers in Delhi are offering a discount up to Rs 2,90,000 on the mid level Delta trim of the S-Cross DDiS 320. The top spec Zeta and Alpha are available with discounts of Rs. 2,00,000 for bigger capacity engine S-Cross.

In addition to the cash discount, the dealers are reportedly offering alloy wheels and Garmin navigation on the Delta trim level.

Maruti Suzuki launched S-Cross as a premium crossover in August 2015. S-Cross was launched at a price ranging from Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 13.74 lakh with the option of two diesel engines.

The 1.3-litre diesel motor churns out 89bhp power and 200Nm torque, and 1.6-litre diesel that is tuned to pump out 118bhp and 320Nm. The former engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the latter gets six-speed manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki had a healthy sales record for S-Cross in the launch month with 4,602 units sold. The crossover also reached fourth place in the list of best selling passenger vehicles in August behind Hyundai Creta, Honda Jazz and Ford Figo Aspire.
