Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker continues to top the list of best selling cars in India with its models Alto, Swift Dzire, WagonR and Swift sealing the top four positions in September. The list of top selling cars in September featured six models of Maruti Suzuki, two of Hyundai and one each from Renault and Honda.
While the Alto continues to lead the sales in September with 27,750, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Swift settled for second and third position in the list with 18,961 and 16,746 respectively. The tall-boy hatchback the WagonR managed to get the fourth position with 16,645 units of sales in September and this is followed by Hyundai's Grand i10. Hyundai Grand i10 held the fifth position with the sales of 12,212 units in September.
Maruti Suzuki's Baleno premium hatchback is the holder of the sixth position in the list and the hatchback has found 10,623 takers during the same period, pushing its rival the Elite i20 to eighth position with the sales of 8,460.
French car-maker Renault's entry-level model the Kwid, which is proving to be one of the most successful models of the company in India, notched the seventh slot in the bestselling car list last month with the sales of 10,558 units. The ninth in the list is again a Maruti Suzuki model—the Ciaz—and the sedan found 6,544 takers. The tenth in the list is Honda City with the sales of 5,855 units in September.
