It's finally here. The Ignis, the compact crossover from the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki, makes an online appearance yet again ahead of its official launch in the country on January 13. This time it was seen in its completely revealed form.

TeamBHP has managed to get the images of the Ignis in its undisguised state, giving the auto lovers an early glimpse at the India-spec model. The Ignis has been caught on camera numerous times already, but this is probably one of the few images of the Ignis in its fully uncovered avatar. The images show an orange colour Ignis, which is believed to be the top-end variant of the model.

The motor enthusiasts already have a pretty clear picture of the Ignis and what is coming their way in the first month of the New Year. Expected to be priced at around Rs 5.5 lakh, the Ignis will be a contender in the crossover segment and is also expected to pose challenges to the front-runners in the hatchback segment.

From what we know so far, the Ignis measures 3,700mm long, 1,660mm wide and 1,595mm tall. It comes with 2,435mm long wheelbase and offers a ground clearance of 180mm. From a visual stand point, the Ignis will feature projector headlamps and LED DRLs, black body cladding and ORVMs with turn indicators. It is expected to house high-end Harman Kardon audio system with Apple Carplay, smartphone connectivity and safety features such as ABS with EBD, airbags and hill descent control.

Under the bonnet of the new compact crossover is expected to be a 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. It is rumoured to get automated manual transmission (AMT) variant in India and Maruti may also consider 1.0 BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine for Ignis. The crossover could also get SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology in India.
