A fresh batch of spy shots of Maruti Suzuki's upcoming crossover the Ignis has hit the web, indicating the imminent arrival of the model in India. Maruti Suzuki Ignis is speculated to be launched in the country during the festive season this year.

Although it was reported earlier that the launch of the Ignis could be delayed due to the pending orders for Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Baleno, recent reports have claimed that the mini-crossover from Maruti's stable is right on the track for its launch in the country. The emergence of the new images of Ignis consolidates the belief that the model is well on its way to the market. The fresh batch of spy shots of the Ignis comes from GaadiWaadi.

A lot has already been talked about the Ignis since its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. In terms of dimension, the Ignis measures 3,700mm in length, 1,660mm in width, and 1,595mm in height. The vehicle comes with a wheelbase of 2,435mm and has a ground clearance of 180mm.

The Ignis is rumoured to come with a 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. There have also been reports that 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine could also make it to the new Ignis. The transmission is likely to be taken care of by five-speed manual gearbox. Rumours are also rife that the Maruti is also likely to introduce AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) in both petrol and diesel engine variants.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be sold through the company's premium dealership Nexa in India. It will be the third model to join Maruti Suzuki Nexa. Currently Nexa has two offerings on its floors -- S-Cross and Baleno.
