As Maruti Suzuki continues testing its upcoming Ignis, a fresh batch of images of the model has surfaced online, indicating that the work on the compact crossover is going at a rapid pace. Maruti Suzuki Ignis is slated for its market launch during the festive season this year.

Snapped by Indian Autos Blog, the latest spy shot of the Ignis is also seen hiding under black camouflage. The image gives a fairly clear idea about the road presence of the car. The Ignis, which made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi, will go on sale through Nexa. The compact crossover will be the third model to be sold through the Nexa premium dealerships of Maruti Suzuki after S-Cross and Baleno.

First unveiled at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show last year, Maruti Suzuki Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and comes with a wheelbase of 2,435 mm.

Under the skin of the Ignis is believed to be 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. To be pitted against Mahindra KUV100 and Ford EcoSport, the Ignis is likely to get a price tag between Rs 4.8 lakh and Rs 6.8 lakh.

As for features, expect the Ignis to feature projector headlights, outside rear-view mirrors with turn indicators, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear mounted spoiler and LED headlights, touchscreen infotainment system, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake distribution) and airbags.
