Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, is expected to launch Ignis compact crossover in India in early 2017. And ahead of its arrival, Ignis has been caught on camera once again, this time in its fully revealed avatar.

The latest images of Ignis in its uncamouflaged form were shared by Gaadiwaadi. The interesting part is that Ignis has been spotted with hybrid badging, indicating that the upcoming compact crossover could be launched in environmental friendly avatar too. The images give a pretty clear look at Ignis from virtually every possible angle.

The Ignis caught on camera was seen donned in metallic silver and needless to say, the compact crossover looks chic. Ignis, which made its appearance at the recent Paris Motor Show, was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2016 in February.

Ignis is likely to get a 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. Maruti is also said to be considering a 1.0 BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine for Ignis and could also be available with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) box.

In India, Ignis will be pitted against Mahindra KUV100. When it comes to pricing, the compact crossover is also expected to give tough completion to cars in the hatchback segment. Maruti Suzuki Ignis is expected to get a price tag of Rs 5.5 lakh

Ignis is expected to be the third model to join the floor of Nexa, the premium dealership of the country's largest carmaker. Currently, Nexa sells Baleno and S-Cross.
