Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker is believed to be putting its upcoming crossover the Ignis through final testing on the Indian roads. As the Ignis continues its testing in the country, a prototype of the model has been caught on camera once again, this time giving us sneak peek in to the interior of the model.

The Ignis was caught on camera by IndianAutosBlog. The test mule, which is believed to be the mid-variant of the crossover, is seen in its covered form, thus obstructing the key details of the model. However, the test mule seems to be featuring 2-DIN music system with buttons.

Maruti is expected to launch the Ignis in India in October. The Ignis will join the company's Nexa premium dealership in the country. It will be the third model of Maruti to go on sale through Nexa.

The Ignis measures 3,700mm in length, 1,660mm in width, and 1,595mm in height. The vehicle comes with a wheelbase of 2,435mm and has a ground clearance of 180mm.

At the heart of the Ignis is likely to be a 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. The transmission is likely to be taken care of by five-speed manual gearbox. Rumours are also rife that the Maruti may also introduce AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The Ignis is rumoured to get the 1.0 BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine in India.

When launched, the Ignis will take on the likes of Mahindra KUV100 in the Indian micro-SUV segment. On the pricing front, the Ignis is expected to fall in the range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh.
