It has been a while since we heard anything about Maruti's upcoming SUV codenamed YBA. But for the last couple of days, the auto industry has been abuzz as spy photographers continue to pick off a host of Maruti's upcoming models in just about every part of the country.

From the southern city of Chennai and the roads in the desert state of Rajasthan, to Gurgaon in the outskirts of the capital and other cities, the car has been seen everywhere. Now the shutterbugs have caught another Maruti model YBA on camera, which is expected to reach Indian shores in 2016.

Maruti YBA SUV, the country's largest car maker's answer to Ford's EcoSort SUV, was spied before too. Now snapped again by Gaadiwaadi, YBA is seen hiding under heavy black camouflage, thus obscuring clear view as much as possible. However, from the spy shots, it is not difficult to figure out the overall outline of the new SUV.

Visually, YBA SUV seems to have got a design similar to Suzuki iV-4 concept SUV, which was seen at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Some of the features expected in YBA include angular tail lamps and new smaller grille with horizontal slats. Underneath the skin, the rumours swirling on web suggest a new 1.5 liter diesel engine and 1.0-liter turbocharged or 1.2-liter K-series petrol mill.

From what we have heard so far, Maruti YBA is likely to see the light of the day at Auto Expo 2016. In India, the model will be pitted against the EcoSport and upcoming Mahindra S101. Speaking of the prcing, Maruti is likely to give it a price tag of around ₹5.5 lakh.

In 2015, Maruti is expected to begin its innings with the facelifted avatar of Swift Dzire. The car, which is currently in the production stage, is likely to hit showrooms in next couple of days .
