The all new Ciaz sedan from the country's largest car maker's stable has already become the favourite of Indian auto aficionados at least that is what the emerging reports suggest.
A recent report of RushLane reveals that the waiting period of Maruti Ciaz, which was at minimum in the initial days of launch, has now gone up to five months due to the increasing demand for sedan in the Indian market.
The report also suggests that in cities like Pune, the waiting period has been extended to five months, while in other cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, the waiting period for Ciaz is three months from the date of bookings. The waiting period indicated above is said to be the same across the country including in Tier-II cities like Coimbatore.
Maruti Ciaz received 10,000 pre-launch bookings in the country and the demand is expected to go higher in the coming days. Launched on 6 October, Maruti Ciaz has been priced in the range of ₹6.99 lakh - ₹9.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is offered in both diesel and petrol engine options.
Under the hood, the new Ciaz packs 1.3 litre Multijet diesel or 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine and is available in a total of ten trims- 6 petrol variants- V, V+, Z, Z(O), V+(AT) and Z AT and 4 diesel variants- V, V+, Z and Z(O).
The petrol Ciaz churns out 95 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm and comes coupled to a five speed manual or four speed automatic transmission, while the diesel model of the car is tuned to churn out 90 PS at 4,000 rpm power and 200 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm and gets five speed manual gearbox.
