August 2015 has been a bumper month for car launches with leading automakers seeking a pie in the burgeoning motor industry sector in India. Keeping in tune with it, Maruti and Mahindra are gearing up for the next installment of their offerings in September.

Maruti Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle) -1 September

Maruti Ciaz SHVS, the hybrid variant of the company's recently launched sedan will be made available in India on 1 September. The Maruti Ciaz SHVS with anticipated mileage of 28.09 kmpl will position itself as the country's most fuel-efficient car offering. Besides, it will replace the existing Maruti Ciaz diesel that is in the market.

Talking of its dimensions, Maruti Ciaz SHVS measures the same as the current model in the market with 4,490mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,485mm in height. Maruti Ciaz has a ground clearance of 170mm and a wheelbase of 2,650mm.

Under the hood, the Hybrid Ciaz will get 1.3-litre Multi-jet engine with Integrated Starter Generator and battery. Bookings for Ciaz SHVS are underway in the country and the model is expected to get a price tag at a premium of Rs. 45,000 above the current Ciaz diesel model.

Mahindra TUV300 -10 September

Homegrown UV maker Mahindra will pull the wraps off its highly anticipated mini SUV TUV300 in India on 10 September. The pre-launch bookings of the model will begin on 1 September.

Mahindra TUV300, a sub 4-metre, seven- seater SUV, will feature a flat roof, roof rails, short overhangs, body-coloured door handles, door mirrors and bumpers.

The model, which is inspired by the battle tank, will feature a new mHawk80 engine under the hood, which is expected to be an updated version of the Quanto's 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel motor. Mahindra TUV300 is likely to be pegged around the Rs. 7 lakh range.

Kwid, the small car offering from French automaker Renault's stable is another much-awaited and talked about launch of the month. Although the launch date of the model is yet to be known, rumours are rife that this Kwid will be launched in India by the end of September since the company has regularly taunted 'a festive season' launch.

Built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A modular platform, Renault Kwid will be priced between Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 4 lakh. Under the bonnet, Kwid will get 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mills that are expected to churn out 57bhp power and the transmission will be taken care of by either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. The Kwid is expected to deliver the best-in-class fuel efficiency and has a ground clearance of 180mm.

Kwid is expected to feature the segment's first ever touchscreen Media-Nav Navigation System with a seven-inch display, digital instrument console, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, chrome touched tail lights, roof rails and side body cladding, offering a closure to what could be a revv 'olutionary' month ahead.
