French auto-maker Renault's upcoming small car is the latest buzz in the auto world. Codenamed Renault XBA, the model has been spied undergoing testing in the country a dozens of times already.

Now coming our way is a fresh batch images of Renault XBA caught on camera by a Motoroids reader Vicky in Himachal Pradesh and as usual the test mule is seen hiding under heavy camouflage, thus not giving away any key details of the model. In the latest set of images, the most intriguing part is obviously the size of the prototype and one may add it looks absolutely massive for a low-budget car.
Now coming back to Renault XBA, a model which is coming to the market to rival small cars like Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon will be riding on CMF-A (Common Module Family – Affordable) and is expected to make its official entry later this year.
Judging from the images, the XBA seems to be wearing single wiper blade for front windshield and one can also see the outdated rear-view mirrors. A closer look further will also show tyre of the test mule, which is fastened by three-lug nuts.
As for what resides underneath the new XBA, the rumours swirling around the web suggest an 800cc petrol engine coupled with an automated manual transmission (AMT) or manual transmission. Other details are scant at this point of time; however rumours suggest a sub-₹4 lakh price tag for XBA.
