Budding Telugu actor Manoj Nandam's mother Usha Rani died of lung cancer on Saturday, 9 May. She was 51. Sadly, she passed away just a day before the world celebrates International Mother's Day.

Usha Rani was well known for running a play school in Manikonda. She was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for a few years. Many celebrities from the industry visited Nandam's house and paid their last respects to his mother.

Nandam, who started his career as a child artist, is known for playing the roles as young Mahesh Babu in Trivikram Srinivas's "Athadu" and young Prabhas in Rajamouli's "Chatrapathi". He became hero with "Oka Romantic Crime Katha" in 2012. Though it was not a big hit at the box office, the movie was successful in getting him much-needed recognition as an actor in the industry.

He continued his acting journey and played lead roles in Telugu movies such as "Oka Criminal Prema Katha", "Prema Prayanam" and Nutilo Kappalu. He was last seen as hero in "Aloukika", which released in theatres across the globe on 23 April 2015. The film failed to do an expected amount of business.

As a hero, Nandam is just four-film-old in Telugu film industry and is yet to get a big commercial success. Despite not getting a big hit yet, he has been flooded with several offers. Two of his upcoming films -- "Youthful Love" and "Bullipettelo Boochodu" -- are slated to release next year. Another film "DhanaLaxmi Thaluputhadithe" is likely to release soon.

With Nandam bagging multiple offers, his career is shaping up well. It is sad that his mother is not there to see the glory of her son. She has left him in a pool of tears a day before International Mother's Day. We, at IB Times India express heartfelt condolences to young actor. May his mother's soul rest in peace!
