Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, who is the brand ambassador of organic farming in Kerala, has inaugurated the harvest of actor Sreenivasan's organic paddy field in Kandanadu near Kochi.

Actor-director Sreenivasan, started organic paddy cultivation on 2.5 acres in Kandanadu four years ago, using Kasargod Kunji cow's dung and urine as manure. It was later expanded by the actor with the help of Kandanadu Padasekhara Samithi to about 35 acres.

"The fact is that we can self sustain ourselves with a little effort from our side. Sreeniettan who is always different proved it once again. It was a first experience for me and a great one. Respect to all those farmers and cultivators who make sure we have our daily meal," Manju posted on Facebook, expressing her happiness in taking part in the event.

Manju, who made her comeback in Rosshan Andrews "How Old Are You" was appointed as the brand ambassador of organic farming after her character Nirupama, who encouraged women in organic farming, was well-received by the audience.

Meanwhile, Manju will be next seen as a lawyer in Sathyan Anthikad's untitled film opposite Mohanlal. And Sreenivasan is awaiting the release of "Nagara Varidhi Naduvil Njan" and "Chirakodinja Kinavukal".
