Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for Vitória Guimarães midfielder Bernard Mensah, with manager Louis van Gaal sending his scouts to watch keep an eye on the Ghanaian international.

The 20-year-old has been impressive with Vitoria Guimaraes this season, and his performances have reportedly caught the attention of many top clubs, including Manchester United, Valencia and Inter Milan.

Despite there being a lot of speculation on his future, Mensah says he is not concerned about the transfer rumours, and he is currently only focused on helping Guimaraes qualify for next season's Europa League.

"I keep hearing about these links, but i have beein saying my focus is to play well and help Guimaraes into the Europa league," Mensah told Allsports.com.gh. "It motivates me to hear the reports about the big clubs showing interest in me, but for now I belong to Guimaraes."

However, according to the Metro, United are reportedly adamant over securing the 20-year-old's signature, with Van Gaal sending scouts to watch the midfielder during Guimaraes' 2-0 Portuguese league victory over Estoril last week.

Mensah, who joined Vitória Guimarães' academy from Feyenoord Ghana for an undisclosed fee in 2012, managed to break into the first team this season after netting nine goals in 26 appearances to help the Vitoria Guimaraes B team win promotion to the Segunda Liga in 2013/14.

The 20-yeart-old has also been impressive this season, netting four goals in 23 league appearances in his debut campaign for the Vitoria Guimaraes senior team.

Meanwhile, Phil Jones says that he is ready to make a comeback in Manchester United's final three English Premier League fixtures after playing 62 minutes for the Under-21 squad on Monday.

The 23-year-old centre-back has been out of action for the last three weeks after sustaining an ankle injury.

He was named on the bench during United's last Premier League fixture against West Brom, but he failed to make an appearance owing to his lack of fitness.

However, after completing 62 minutes during United's Under-21 clash against Southampton at Leigh Sports Village on Monday, he believes he is ready to return to action.

"I'm happy to play in the Under-21s and get some fitness," Jones told MUTV. "The lads did well. I feel I'm ready to go again and hopefully I can make the squad on Saturday. Hopefully, I'll recover on Tuesday, then train on Wednesday and Thursday, and see how it goes. I'll take it from there."
