Manchester United are reportedly interested in landing Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, according to his agent player's agent Giuliano Bertolucci.

Despite being rated as one of the best upcoming players in the world, the 20-year-old has managed to get only ten starts in the Ligue 1 this season due to manager Laurent Blanc preferring the partnership of Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the heart of his defence.

Still PSG are reportedly determined to keep Marquinhos at Parc des Princes as they feel that the Brazilian will become a star in the future.

However, Marquinhos' agent Bertolucci claims that Manchester United are interested in his client and the Brazilian will make a move out of Parc des Princes if he continues being left out on the bench.

"Last summer, PSG's president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) declared that Marquinhos was unsellable," Bertolucci told Le Parisien. "We will see what their position is this summer. Many clubs are interested in the player. Manchester United are one of them, this is true."

Despite saying that Marquinhos respects Blanc's decisions, Bertolucci, who feels that his client is not a lesser player compared to Silva and Luiz, says that his client wants to play as much as possible.

"He [Marquinhos] wants to become the best defender in the world. He is not a lesser player compared with Thiago Silva or David Luiz," Bertolucci added. "He respects the decisions of his coach, but just wants to play and spend as little time as possible on the bench.

"Marquinhos is prepared to play at right-back and even in defensive midfield if he has to."

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is being linked with a move for a defender this month, and Marquinhos could turn out to be the right player especially considering his ability to play as a defender as well as a midfielder.

Barcelona were also thought to be interested in the youngster, but they will not be able to make a move for the player as they have been banned from making any signings in 2015.

This leaves Manchester United in the clear to sign the £30 million-rated defender.
