Super Agent Jorge Mendes has revealed the he is currently in negotiations with Manchester United over a new deal for his client David De Gea.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper's future at Old Trafford has been subject to a lot of speculation this season, especially with European champions Real Madrid understood to be keen on landing the Spaniard.

Although De Gea, who was excellent during Manchester United's 1-1 draw against West Ham on Sunday, making a number of crucial saves, has not yet signed a new contract with the Red Devils, he has time and again dismissed the speculation, insisting that he is happy at Old Trafford.

And now new reports are indicating that the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper will move to Real Madrid on a free transfer after his contract with United expires in the summer of 2016.

However, the player's agent Mendes has dismissed all these rumours by revealing that he is currently in talks with United over De Gea's contract extension.

"I am negotiating with Manchester United about De Gea's renewal," Mendes told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser. "It is not true that De Gea has found a deal with Real Madrid. I'm negotiating with Manchester United his extension."

De Gea has managed to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the English Premier League after initially struggling following his £17.8 million switch from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011.

Meanwhile, Daley Blind feels that United deserved more than a draw at West Ham United despite the Red Devils only just managing to salvage a point at Upton Park on Sunday.

After being thoroughly dominated by the Hammers in the first half, the Red Devils went behind to a Cheikhou Kouyate goal in the 49th minute. United then started playing well and finally found the equaliser through Blind in the second minute of added time.

However, the Dutchman feels that United deserved more than a point considering the chances they created in the second half.

"I think we deserved more," Blind told MUTV. "We created a lot of chances that we could score from, but we didn't score. In the end, you could be happy with 1-1, but we aren't. We deserved more from the game."
