Spurring hundreds of YouTube fan videos and scores of so-called "kidpreneurs", the possibilities of what can be done with rainbow loom bands have always been limitless. However, this innovative postman took loom bands from rainbow bracelets to penis thong.

Patrick Kavanagh, a postman from Kent, says he was inspired after he saw the pictures of "The Only Way is Essex" stars Bobby Cole Norris and boyfriend Harry Derbidge's in the daring and baring banana hammocks "Shlong Thong".

The 41-year-old stated, "What started as a bit of Facebook fun suddenly created a bit of a stir and a few people suggested that we host a "just giving" page for people to make a donation and that enters them into the raffle for Patrick's fantastic loom band creation"

"Just Giving" is the world's leading platform for charity giving, which enables interested parties to raise money for charities. Kavanagh is hoping to raise £500 for St Michael's Hospice in Hastings, UK, which provides specialist care for those with life-limiting diagnoses throughout the communities of Hastings and Rother.

"Any donation gets your name into the hat for the loom band and helps the folks at the Hospice at the same time - so it's a win-win situation," Kavanagh adds.

The auction will finish at the end of the month, a lucky winner will be picked at random, and all the cash will go to support a local hospice. However, it looks like the target will be met much before that, with £411 already raised with 50 donations.

Bruni Llovet, head of marketing at St Michael's Hospice, told the Mirror, "The hospice is so proud of all the fundraising our supporters do, even the more crazy ones, which include abseiling down buildings and walking on fire."

Happily married Kavanagh clarified, "My kids think I'm mad, but I love it... I've always been in good shape, so I don't mind posing for pictures. After all, it's all for a good cause, and they do say that laughter is the best medicine."

Additionally proving he isn't shy of showing off his well-sculpted body, he promises prospective donors that he would "personally deliver (if your local) the loom band." Do not forget to specify "whether you want him to be wearing it or not".
