The audio release of Mammootty's upcoming film will be a starry event. The trailer and audio of the film will be launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

The audio launch function of the film will be held on 11 October at Oberon Cinemax in Kochi. Many stars including Mammootty and the other cast and crew of the film are expected to attend the event.

"Varsham" is directed by Ranjith Shankar who is known in the industry for his films like "Passenger", "Arjunan Sakshi", "Molly Aunty Rocks" and "Punyalan Agarbattis". 

In the film, directed by Ranjith Sankar, Mammootty will play as Venu, a middle class businessman from Thrissur. The story of the film revolves around life of Venu and disuses five stages of his life. Reportedly the actor will be seen in three different looks in the film.

It will also see veteran actor TG Ravi playing a villain role after a long gap. He will play the character of Manaval Peter. He had earlier appeared in a pivotal role in Ranjith's "Punyalan Agarbhathis".

The film also has dancer Asha Sharath who plays the role of Nandini, Venu's wife. Mamtha Mohandas plays the role of Dr Jayashree, also a pivotal character in the film.

Other cast in major roles include Govind Padmasurya, Sunil Sugatha, Sudhir Karamana, Harish Perady, Jayaraj Warrier, Irshad and Sajitha Madathil.

"Varsham" is touted as a family entertainer and the director of the film have earlier said the noticeable aspect of the film will be the characters and their impeccable performances.

The music is composed by Bijipal and the lyrics are written by Santhosh Varma and Jayageetha.

The story, screenplay and dialogues of this Mammootty starrer is done by Ranjith himself. The cinematography of the film is handled by Manoj Pillai and is edited by Sagar Raj.

"Varsham" is produced by Mammootty under the banner of Play House and the release is scheduled on 6 November.
