Mammootty's upcoming movie "Fireman" is one of the most-awaited movies of the year. Earlier, it was reported that the movie will hit the screens by Christmas but latest reports suggest that the movie will be released in January.

This was hinted by Unni Mukundan, one of the actors in the film.

"Fireman Post Production Going On ... Expecting a January Release," wrote Unni Mukundan on his Facebook page.

Touted as an action thriller, "Fireman" is directed by Deepu Karunakaran who had previously given "Teja Bhai and Family', "Winter" and "Crazy Gopalan".

In the movie, Mammootty plays the role of Vijay, a fireman who is deeply committed to his job and enjoys the challenges and adventures involved in it. Unni Mukundan as Shajahan is his associate and part of his professional and personal life.

Unni Mukundan later revealed that he used to get goosebumps whenever he shared screen space with the legendary actor.

"Fireman" has popular RJ and actress Nyla Usha as the lead in the movie. This is her third movie with Mammootty. The actress had made her debut with "Kunjananthante Kada" directed by Salim Ahamed and had played the role of Mammootty's wife. Her second movie with Mammootty was "Gangster" directed by Aashiq Abu, in which she played the character of a bold Muslim girl.

The cinematography of "Fireman" is done by Sunoj Velayudhan and editing by V Saajan. Music is composed by Rahul Raj.

If reports are to be believed, the movie will have tough competition from other films like "Ivan Maryadharaman" starring Dileep, Mohanlal's "Lailaa O Lailaa", "Picket 43" starring Prithviraj and Fahadh Faasil's "Mariyam Mukku".
