Actor Mammootty has been named the most dangerous celebrity from the Malayalam film industry.

Online security firm McAfee carried out a study to find out the list of Malayalam stars who have the highest percentage of risk online. Based on their ranking, Mammootty tops the "most dangerous celebrity" list.

The study reveals that there are 51 infected sites associated with Mammootty. He is followed by Mohanlal who has 50 infected sites in his name. Close on his heels is Prithviraj with 49 infected search results.

Cyber criminals lure fans to sites laden with malware by capitalising on the fans' interest to get details about their favourite star. When fans look out for information about celebrities, their search results lead them to several infected sites.

According to McAfee, searching a celebrity name with other terms including "wall paper", "videos" and "nude pictures" resulted in more instances of infected sites appearing as search results. When fans click any of the infected sites, the malware enables cyber criminals to steal personal information about users.

McAfee also conducted the study with celebrities from other film industries. In Tamil film industry, Trisha tops the list with 80 infected sites. Arya, Suriya, Vijay, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are among others who made it to the top 10 list.

In Telugu, Mahesh Babu is found to be the most dangerous celebrity with 43 infected sites followed by Ram Charan with. Allu Arjun, NTR, Ileana, Anjali, Kriti Sanon, Amala Paul and Kajal Aggarwal are also in the list.

In Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra topped the list followed by Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan are among others in the list.
