Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is all set to make a mark in South Indian film industry soon.

The "Badlapur" actress will be seen opposite megastar Mammootty in his upcoming Malayalam film "White" which is expected to go on floors on 1 November.

A majority of the film will be shot in London and the team is expected to have a 35-day shooting schedule in the city.

Helmed by Uday Ananthan, "White" tells the story of two strangers meeting at a foreign place. The film will see Mammootty as a billionaire, who falls in love with a 25-year-old girl Roshni Menon.

Latest report suggests that it was Mammootty who suggested Huma's name for the film.

"I was blown away when Mammootty asked me to approach Huma for the role. He has a keen sense of observation and knows about every actor in the country, be it even a serial actor who has done just a 10-minute role," said Uday Ananthan, according to The Times of India.

"White" has been co-written by Nandini Valsan and Praveen Balakrishnan, while the film's music will be composed by Rahul Raj.

Earlier, Huma had rejected the offers to star opposite Tamil superstars Vijay and Suriya and it is said that the actress gave her nod for the film as she liked the script of the Mammootty starrer.

Huma will be next seen in "Azhar", "Madam X" and "Viceroy's House".
