Megastar Mammootty celebrated Friday, Feb. 19, the success of his latest release "Puthiya Niyamam" with the crew members of his upcoming film, tentatively tiled "Kasaba," at Kolar Gold Fields in Bengaluru.
"Puthya Niyamam" director AK Sajan had also arrived at the shooting location to celebrate the success of the crime thriller starring Mammootty and Nayantara. Jagadeesh, Abu Salim and many other actors who are part of "Kasaba" were also spotted during the success party. Mammootty, who plays the role of Circle Inspector Rajan Zacharia in the upcoming Nithin Renji Panicker directorial, was seen in his police avatar during the celebration.
"Puthiya Niyamam," released Feb. 12, has been garnering good response from movie-goers, and Nayantara has delivered her career-best performance as Kathakali artiste Vasuki Iyer in the revenge thriller opposite Mammootty (Adv Louis Pothen). The movie had earned a gross amount of Rs 5.98 crore within five days of its release at the Kerala box office. The Mammootty-starrer also has Baby Ananya, Sheelu Abraham, Rachana Narayanankutty and SN Swamy in pivotal roles, and Aju Varghese and Kottayam Pradeep in cameos.
Meanwhile, Mammootty's upcoming action movie "Kasaba" is the debut directorial venture of Nithin, who had earlier revealed that the flick would not be similar to his father Renji Panicker's classic action thrillers with fiery dialogues. Actor Sarathkumar's daughter Varalaxmi makes her debut in Malayalam opposite Mammootty in the upcoming movie, which is also expected to see Tamil actor Sampath in a pivotal role.
