Mallika Sherawat's upcoming Bollywood film "Dirty Politics", which was earlier scheduled to release on 13 February, has been postponed to 6 March.

Sources close to the film suggest that the release date has been postponed to record another song and to avoid a clash with Ranbir Kapoor's "Roy" and Varun Dhawan's "Badlapur". While "Roy" is slated to release on 13 February, "Badlapur" is set to hit screens on 20 February.

"Earlier my film was supposed to release on 13 February, but since my song 'Ghaghra' is doing really well, we have decided to record one more song for this film. So, Mallika will be shooting for this song on 13-15 February," KC Bokadia, director of the film told IANS.

"Dirty Politics" will now hit screens on Holi and the director believes it as a "good window" for the drama film.

"It's better to release your film separately than to have two to three releases the same day," the director added.

He has also confirmed that Mallika's new song will be a situational number and not an item song.

The film, reportedly inspired by Bhanwari Devi's murder case, also stars Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Atul Kulkarni, Rajpal Yadav and many others in pivotal roles.

The trailer of "Dirty Politics", which was released on 21 December on YouTube has received more than one million views.
