Telugu movie Majnu has received good response at the United States box office in Thursday's premiere shows. The romantic drama is set to beat the collection records of Nani's previous releases.

Nani's Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha and Gentleman have been big hits at the US box office. Their success had created a lot of hype around Majnu. Its promos also generated a lot of curiosity about the film.

Several leading overseas distribution houses were in race to bag Majnu's international rights. AZIndia Media LLC finally acquired it after shelling out a fancy price.

The distributor initially booked 111 screens for the premier of Majnu across North America, but increased the number to 115 after receiving good advance booking. Box Office Updates tweeted: "#Nani #Majnu USA theater count is increased from 111 to 115, 4 more screens added - maine, rochester mn, fayetteville ga & atlas eastgate oh."

As per early estimates, Majnu has collected over $44,000 at the US box office in the premiere shows and the number is likely to surpass $100,000, when the final numbers are revealed. Box Office Telugu tweeted: "#Majnu positive reports from premieres. $44k so far. Final numbers to report by theaters."

Bhale Bhale Magadivoy had collected $70,132 at the US box office in the premiere shows and it was biggest opener for Nani in the country. Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha, which raked in $41,369 in the country, had failed to beat the record. His last outing Gentleman collected $71,938 at the US box office in the paid preview and broke his previous record. Now, Majnu is set to be the biggest opener for the actor.
