Nani's good run at the box office has continued with his latest film Majnu getting fantastic reviews and registering good opening at the box office. The interesting part of the story is that it has done well at the collection centres despite heavy rains wreaking havoc in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Majnu had generated good pre-release buzz following the success of Nani's previous films. As a result, the audience responded well to the advance booking, which has translated into a good business. But the heavy rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana took a toll on the overall collection of the flick.

The early estimation coming from the trade experts indicate that the flick has grossed over Rs 5.10 crore on the first day. The distributors' share is said to be somewhere about Rs 2.5 crore. Please note that it is a predicted number and the makers are yet to formally reveal the collection made by the flick on its first day.

Majnu also had its premiere in the United States from which it has reportedly earned over $58,370, which is third highest for a Nani film from the special shows in North America after Gentleman ($72,418) and BBM ($70,132). His blockbuster Eega, which had earned $42,408 from its premiere, has now been pushed down to the fourth place.

The latest movie is a romantic-comedy entertainer, which is written and directed by Virinchi Varma of Uyyala Jampala fame. Geetha Golla and P Kiran have jointly produced the movie under their banners, Anandi Art Creations and Keva Movies respectively. Nani and Anu Emmanuel are playing the lead roles, while Vennela Kishore, Priya Shri and Posani Krishna Murali appear in supporting roles.
