Mahindra's small electric hatchback, the Reva e2o, is back in news. A new set of spy images of what is believed to be the four-door version of Reva e2o has emerged online, fuelling fresh rumours about its arrival in the market.

The prototype of Mahindra e2o has been spied upon while undergoing testing in Bangalore by a member of Team BHP. Though one cannot extract much from the images, since the model is seen with heavy camouflage, rumours are rife that the four-door version of the e2o could hit the production line soon. It is also being said that Mahindra could be testing some of the parts of its rumoured electrically-powered compact SUV on the chassis of the Reva e2o.

The new version of Mahindra Reva e2o is said to be the same as the current model in terms of proportions but it may have an elongated rear end, and seems to have got restyled tail lights and rear bumper. Mahindra Reva e2o is powered by an electric motor that is driven by 48-volt lithium-ion batteries, which can generate 19 kW of power @ 3,750 RPM and 53.9 Nm of torque @ 0-3,000 RPM. Manufactured at the company's Bangalore plant, Reva e2o has a top speed of 81kmph.

Mahindra Reva e2o 4-door version is expected to make its market entry in 2017. The company is primarily said to be targeting export markets in Europe with the vehicle.
