Mahindra KUV100: The next big thing; full specifications, features, prices and more

Popular UV maker Mahindra and Mahindra launched a new SUV dubbed KUV100 in the Indian market on 15 January. Priced at Rs 4.42 lakh (ex showroom Pune), KUV100, a sub-compact SUV, targets the unchartered territory between hatchback and SUV.

To be offered in four variants -- K2, K4, K6 and K8 -- and three sub-variants – K2+, K4+ and K6+ -- Mahindra KUV100 comes with two seating configurations, a standard 5-seater and a 6-seater with bench seats.

The powerplant of KUV100 is Mahindra's newly developed mFalcon engines and is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 engine is tuned to churn out 82bhp and 114Nm, and the 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel engine can develop 77bhp and a peak torque of 190Nm. Its transmission is shouldered by a five-speed manual gearbox in both the diesel and petrol versions.

Built on a monocoque chassis, the diesel models of Mahindra KUV100 claim to offer a mileage of 25.32 kmpl and the petrol promises to deliver 18.15 kmpl. Mahindra KUV100 comes in seven body shades and features ABS with EBD as standard across all models. The mini-SUV also gets dual airbag as optional across all variants.

On the front, KUV100 comes with dominant SUV-Stance with sculpted up-right bonnet, dual tone-bumpers and muscular lines; wrap-around headlamps inspired sunglasses, clenched fist ORVMs, and integrated DRLs. Coming to the rear, the new SUV features dual tone bumpers, wheel arch cladding, dual rear fog lamps, rear spoilers coupled with double barrel tail lamps and roof rails.

The feature list of Mahindra KUV100 includes cooled glovebox, 6-speaker audio system with USB and AUX, steering mounted controls, mood lighting, foldable rear seat, micro hybrid technology, electrically adjustable ORVMs and keyless entry.
