The Madhya Pradesh government on Monday denied allegations that Animal Husbandry minister Kusum Mehdele kicked a child when he asked her for one rupee.

Earlier, a video clip showing the 10-year-old boy being kicked away allegedly by the minister had gone viral on social media.

"No such incident took place. Still Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will talk to the minister," government spokesperson Narottam Mishra told IANS.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesperson Hitesh Vajpayee said that the senior woman minister has denied the allegation and that she should to be trusted for her version. He added that the footage should be investigated.

Mehdele had also sparked an outrage earlier saying no farmer ends his life over the death of a young son and asking how then can they commit suicide over crop failure.
