Srinagar, April 27 (ANI): Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Sunday attacked National Conference (NC) that governs Jammu and Kashmir, and said that it was using boycott calls for its own benefits. Addressing a news conference in Srinagar Sayeed said that NC’s presence on political front in the state had become a permanent threat to peace and stability. Many people stayed away from voting on April 24 in the Anantnag constituency of Kashmir, after a string of attacks on village elders. Police said the attacks were the work of militants determined to derail the poll. The constituency was one of six in Jammu and Kashmir. Sayeed added Kashmir will face grave consequences if the NC is allowed to disrupt the democratic institutions and processes, the way it did in 1987, following which the state for over two decades, till now is facing a worst ever political turmoil
