The Los Angeles Auto Show 2014 welcomed some of the best design concepts and cars from well-known automakers around the world. As this is the last chance for automakers to show off their final designs of future models this year, car makers put up an excellent show.

Maserati Alfieri concept - The Maserati Alfieri concept was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The 460-horsepower conceptual beast marks the company's 100-year anniversary and is a homage to the company's sports heritage.

The Mitsubishi concept XR-PH EV - Mitsubishi showed off its XR-PH EV concept vehicle at the event representing the company's new design direction. The Mitsubishi concept XR-PH EV is a plug-in hybrid, which shows the Japanese company is still fighting for survival in the auto industry. With a combined power of 294 horsepower, the car's efficiency is measured at 65mpg in hybrid mode.

Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept -Chevrolet took a massive jump with its concept design, which is very futuristic. The design of the Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is entirely unique and stands out in the crowd. The imaginative design of the 2X was created by GM's North Hollywood Advanced Design Center. Theoretically, the 2X is designed to achieve top speed of 240mph at 0-60mph in a 1.5seconds.

Volkswagen GTI Roadster concept car - Volkswagen's concept at the L.A. Auto Show was yet another impressive piece in the concept category. The two-seater, fierce design of the car is the first VW car concept to be shown in North America. According to VW, the GTI Roadster draws its power from a 3.0-liter bi-turbocharged V6 engine, pushing 503 horses down the pipes and 413 lb-ft of torque. With all-wheel-drive, 7-speed transmission, the sports car is said to run 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 192mph.

Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept car – Infiniti took the stage at the LA Auto Show to unveil its futuristic Q80 Inspiration concept. The car's new technology and beautiful craftsmanship gave it an elegant look among other cars. Inside that streamlined design, a V6 engine mates with a 550 horsepower electric motor to deliver 42.8mpg. The cutting edge technology is expected to be the future of Infiniti.

Lexus LF C2 concept - Lexus's presence at the auto show was sure to impress with its gold-hued open-air LG-C2 concept taking its cues from sports coupe. It is an exciting addition to the Lexus lineup as it brings exceptional interiors and looks.

Audi Prologue concept car - Audi's Prologue concept not only represents the futuristic design of the upcoming cars but it gives a better view of what to expect from the widely-anticipated Audi A9. With its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the car is capable of achieving 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds. The car's design is the first from the new design chief Marc Lichte and shows a positive progression.
