Ehsan Abdulaziz, the millionaire property developer from Saudi Arabia, has been cleared of charges of raping a teenager after a London court accepted his arguement that he tripped and penerated the young girl by mistake, said reports.
A rape case had been filed against the Saudi milionaire after an 18-year-old alleged that the 46-year-old business tycoon forced himself on her while she slept in the sofa in his house in a Maida Vale flat in August.
According to The Telegaph, the victim was introduced to Abdulaziz at a night club by a friend. The businessman had known her friend, a 24-year-old woman, for over six-seven months, the report said.
After a night of partying at the Cirque le Soir nightclub, Abdulaziz offered to drop the victim and her friend back home in his Aston Martin on 7 August. However, on the way, he invited the two over for a nightcap at his house.
At the flat, the victim's friend joined Abdulaziz in his bedroom, and the 18-year-old went to sleep in the sofa.
The young woman said the only thing she remembers is waking up in the early hours with Abdulaziz trying to force himself on her. He, however, told the court he had gone to check if the girl need a T-shirt to sleep in or a taxi home.
The girl, he claimed, pulled him towards her and placed his hand between her thighs. He said since he had semen on his hand already as he had had sex with the victim's friend and when the young woman pulled his hand on her vagina, his semen might have left DNA traces there.
According to The Daily Mail, the Saudi business was allowed to give evidence in private to Judge Martin Griffiths. He was acquitted by the jury after just 30 minutes of deliberations.
Last week, the prosecution while presenting the case had revealed that when Abdulaziz was arrested, he had said: "She'll have to prove it."
