Cricket, Football, Liquor ― people in the South Indian state of Kerala are obsessed with these three factors and if any of these hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, then social media will be the place where they end up venting their frustration.

Earlier, several celebrities including Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova, South Indian actress Hansika Motwani, Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma had fell victim to online abuse.

Added to the list is "Masss" actor Premgi Amaren, whose Facebook page has been filled with the "pongala" by Malayalis for posting a photo of a Kerala sign-board with his comment on the recent liquor ban in the state.

The "North 24 Kaatham" actor had posted the photo on Tuesday, which showed three different routes to Kottayam, with the comment "you think may be it was a good thing they banned alcohol in the state?"

Following this, the actor has been attacked by the Facebook users from Kerala by posting comments like "u dnt knw the power of malayaless.. mookka mokkaaa" and "we can't watch ur acting even if we consume alcohol," among others.

Meanwhile, the post has now been removed by the actor and he has reportedly claimed that it was not posted by him, but by some of his fans who manage his official Facebook page.

However, the photo posted by the actor had gone viral earlier, with many claiming it as a photoshopped work, while some said they have seen this sign-board in Kottayam.
