South Korean consumer electronics giant LG has announced the global release details of the metal based smartphone Zero.

For the uninitiated, LG Zero was first unveiled as LG Class in the company's home market, South Korea in September. Now the smartphone is being rolled out in international market with a different moniker.

"At LG, we do not believe in limiting our best technology to just our flagship devices," said Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"The LG Zero exhibits innovation not only in its design but in its ability to offer premium features at a competitive price point," he added.

LG Zero flaunts an all-metal shell made of premium Aluminium alloy on the rear-side with "Arc Glass" design of the edges and on front, it sports 5.0-inch HD screen with In-cell Touch technology.

Under-the-hood, it houses 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 13MP camera on the rear-side, a 5MP snapper on the front and a 2050 mAh battery.

LG Zero availability details:

The company has confirmed that the new LG Zero will first hit stores in Taiwan this week and later in select regions of Asia, Europe and Latin America.

LG added that Zero will be sold as Class in Germany, Russia and Singapore.

Price details of the device will be announced during local launch events, said the company in a press statement.
