South Korean consumer electronics major LG today (23 February) unveiled four new smartphones Leon, Magna, Spirit and Joy ahead of MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015.
"LG's new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
"For millions of consumers around the world, the deciding factor on which smartphone to buy isn't how fast or how big it is but how balanced it is. With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets," he added.
LG's new phone Leon, a Spanish term meaning Lion, is no mean beast like it sounds. It's just a mid-range smartphone launched to cater to the fast growing handset markets like India, China and other emerging regions. It sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS powered by 1.2GHz/1.3GHz quad-core SoC (System on Chip), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and 1900 mAh battery.
On the other hand, LG Joy is a watered down version of Leon. It features 4.0-inch WVGA screen, 1.2GHz quad-core/1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB/512MB RAM, 4GB/8GB memory and 1900 mAh battery.
LG Magma and Spirit are a little big in size. They house Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 8GB inbuilt memory, 1GB RAM and an 8.0-megapixel main camera on the rear side.
All the new LG smartphones Leon, Joy, Magna and Spirit will hit stores in select markets this week and will also be showcased at the upcoming MWC 2015, Barcelona, said the company in a statement.
