South Korean consumer electronics major LG, on Thursday, unveiled the official G5 smart flip-case, dubbed as Quick Cover, ahead of the flagship smartphone launch.
"Known as a company ahead of the times, LG took this characterization to heart by revealing the existence of the accessory before the actual product (LG G5)," said the company in a press release.
LG's Quick Cover case is actually not a new accessory as it was first made available to LG K10 a few weeks ago.
It comes with semi-transparent mesh with glossy metallic finish and is touch-enabled so that users can take/dismiss calls or control alarm settings directly from the cover-case without opening it. The cover-case also features a hollow space at the top so that users can take a peek on G5's "Always On" display segment to read time, date and notifications.
LG G5: What we know so far
LG G5 is said to sport a 5.3-inch QHD (2560x1440p) display with ticker feature (similar to LG V10), Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.
It also expected to house a 16MP camera with 135-degree wide-angle capture ability and an 8MP snapper on the front.
LG G5 is slated to be officially unveiled on Feb. 21, a day ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016, Barcelona (Feb. 22 to Feb. 25).
Rival Samsung too has confirmed to pull the wraps off the new Galaxy S7 series on the very same day, Sunday, next week.
Both LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 series phones will be showcased at MWC 2016 at their respective booths at Fira Gran Via concert hall, Barcelona.
