South Korean consumer electronics major LG is reportedly prepping the launch of its flagship curved smartphone G-Flex in select global markets.

Buoyed by the overwhelming response from local new carriers, LG Electronics Senior Vice-President (Mobile Communication) Kwon Bong-seok said, "We are now in discussions with global telecommunications firms. The curved smartphone (G Flex) is expected to be available in the U.S., Japanese, and European markets," reported Korea Herald.

The new LG G Flex is set to hit stores in South Korea next Tuesday. The company is still tight-lipped about the timeline of the curved phone's international debut.

LG G Flex sports a 6.0-inch HD (1280x720p) vertically curved P-OLED display and runs on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The curved phone houses some similar features seen in the LG flagship model G2. G-Flex has power and volume controls on the back-cover and packs the same camera specifications i.e. 13.0-megapixel main camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera along with plethora smart camera features like Face detection Indicator and Camera Timer.

Another striking feature of G-Flex is that its back cover is protected by a tough shell which is said to come with self-healing technology that gets rid of scratches within minutes.
