The new Lenovo A7000 will reportedly release in India soon.

BGR India citing sources has claimed that the Chinese firm Lenovo is testing A7000 to make it compatible with the Indian cellular network.

Compared to China and other developed markets, India's telecommunication network (2G, 3G and 4G) is bit different; the network spectrum is regulated by the government. This disparity had previously forced some companies to release only 3G models in the subcontinent.

For instance, Xiaomi Mi4 launch in India had to be pushed due to delay in getting the regulatory approval. Later, the company in its bid to make Mi4 pass certifications, it tried to adjust phone's hardware and antenna calibrations make it compatible with Indian network specifications, but failed in its mission and launched only the 3G model.

Once done with the testing, Lenovo is expected to release A7000 in India as part of phase-1 roll-out scheme later this month.

As per the press statement, Lenovo A7000 will be priced $169, that's roughly around ₹10,500 in Indian currency exchange-rate, excluding the custom duty taxes.

For the uninitiated, Lenovo A7000 was unveiled on 2 March at the ongoing MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015, Barcelona. It is touted as phablet version of the popular 5.0-inch Lenovo A6000, which is currently retailed via flash sales for ₹6,999 on Flipkart in India every Wednesday.

Lenovo A7000 sports 5.5-inch HD IPS screen and ship with the Android 5.0 Lollipop backed by MediaTek Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) with 4G-LTE modem. It will be backed by 2GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and 2,900mAh battery, which can run the phone for close to 12 days under standby mode.

Other notable feature of Lenovo A7000 is that it is the world's first device to house the latest Dolby Atmos audio system.

"Sounds of people, places, things, and music become more vivid and move from all directions, including overhead, with astonishing clarity, richness and depth. Voices and noises have a broader range from highs to lows, with the greatest subtlety," says the company.
