LeEco is upping the ante on the high-end smartphone front with its latest release -- Le Pro 3 -- in China. The new smartphone wears the flagship crown of LeEco, challenging the popular Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7, but from an affordable price point view.

LeEco has established itself as a brand with a series of announcements not just in smartphone category, but also in content, television and automobile segments. And the company's disruptive nature has helped it scale up in the highly-competitive market. LeEco's latest release, Le Pro 3, is an example of that.

LeEco launched Le Pro 3 in two variants, suited for different types of users. The base model is configured with 4G RAM and 32GB storage and priced at ¥1,799 (roughly Rs 18,100), while the high-end variant has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage at ¥1,999 (roughly Rs 20,100). For that price, LeEco Le Pro 3 comes with top-of-the-line specs, enough to compel buyers.

LeEco Le Pro 3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass and 403ppi. The handset is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipset, Adreno 530 GPU for graphics and 4,070mAh battery. Like the previous LeEco models, the Le Pro 3 comes without a 3.5mm headphone jack and uses a USB Type-C audio port, which the company boasts has Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) support for best audio experience.

The Le Pro 3 sports a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, HDR, BSI and 4K video recording at 30fps, and bears an 8MP front snapper with f/2.2 aperture and a 76.5-degree wide lens. By industry standards, the rear camera isn't quite up to the mark, but the pricing of the phone justifies it.

Like other LeEco phones, the Le Pro 3 sports dual SIM support, 4G LTE, a fingerprint scanner on the back and metal body with brushed aluminium finish. The handset comes in gold, grey and silver colours, and will be available in its first flash sale in China next week.

We reached out to LeEco India regarding the handset's release in India, considering it is an important market for the company. While we haven't heard back as of writing this article, we will update when the company responds.
