Amidst competition from rivals such as Xiaomi, Lenovo, Samsung and Micromax, LeEco has managed to stay on top as the company's Le 1s smartphone has been named India's top online selling smartphone in February, global market research firm IDC said on Monday.

According to the research firm, the Le 1s beat 243 other smartphones that were available online and also its closest competitors in the Rs. 10,000-Rs. 15,000 price bracket, according to an IANS report. The budget premium handset was listed in the top 10 while considering both offline and online sales, surpassing Samsung Galaxy J5, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and Xiaomi Redmi 2 in that category. It's worth noting that the Le 1s is sold exclusively online.

LeEco has boasted of breaking several industry records ever since it was launched in India earlier this year. The Le 1s, which was the company's first budget smartphone in India, received more than 20 lakh registrations and 220,000 orders in 31 seconds in three flash sales. The handset's premium specifications and features offered at an affordable price could have done the trick.

The Le 1s features a metal unibody, a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and PDAF and a 5MP front snapper. It is powered by a powerful MediaTek Helio X10 processor, combined with a 3GB RAM and 3,000mAh battery, which has quick charge feature.

LeEco has also added a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device with world's first mirror finish sensor, which offers optimum security and accuracy. The handset also has a USB Type-C port and supports 4G LTE and dual SIM feature.

LeEco is holding another event in Mumbai on May 3, where it is expected to make a series of announcements related to content services and launch new smartphones. Rumours have it that LeEco would launch the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 smartphones released in China last month.
