"The Kapil Sharma Show" will comprise of Kapil and his team members — Ali, Sunil, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti, Chandan Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu — and will go on air April 23 onwards.

None of the popular characters from "Comedy Nights With Kapil," including Dadi (Ali), Gutthi (Sunil) and Palak (Kiku), will reprise their roles as TV channel Colors owns the rights to the original show and its characters. All the talented actors will be seen playing different characters on the new show.

Shah Rukh Khan is the first celebrity guest of the show and will appear to promote his film "Fan." Shah Rukh has recently shot the promo of the first episode along with the team of "The Kapil Sharma Show" at Film City in Mumbai.

"We wanted the first episode to be really special. It had to be a beginning that would make all the fans of Comedy Night With Kapil sit up. Kapil approached Shah Rukh to do a live concert in Delhi and he agreed to it. A date was worked out there and then. Delhiites will see Shah Rukh and Kapil live on stage on April 11. This will be our inaugural episode," a source had told DNA.
