Indian handset maker, Lava Mobiles released two new smartphones dubbed Iris 503 and the 3G4 402 in to the burgeoning subcontinent market at the India Telecom 2013 event in New Delhi.

Today at the India Telecom 2013 we are proud to showcase our latest in-house designed smartphone Iris 503. The product will fuel the aspirations of the evolving mobile user in India," said Hari Om Rai, Chairman and Managing Director, Lava International Ltd as quoted by NDTV Gadget.

Lava Iris 503 flaunts a 5.0-inch IPS screen with 540x960p display resolutions and is powered by the 1.2GHz dual-core chipset. It runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Os platform and comes with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor and LED flash and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Other specifications include 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), 3G network support,2000mAh  battery and connectivity features like Bluetooth and WIFI. The smartphone will be pitted against Xolo 600 and Celkon A107+ and is priced at ₹9, 999. However, the online retailer Flipkart has listed the smartphone for ₹8,599.

On the other hand, the 3G 402 features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 256MB of RAM. It houses a 3-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera and supports the connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and comes with 1500 mAh battery. The device is available for a price of ₹5,499.
