Motorola's official e-commerce partner, Flipkart has reportedly announced that Moto G would be phased out soon in India.
Flipkart has put the last Moto G stocks up for sale with price-cuts. Prospective consumers can now get their hands on the Motorola's best selling smartphone (16GB model) for just ₹11,999, which was previously sold for ₹13,999. [Interested buyers, click here]
The report comes close on the heels of the Motorola India's announcement of 5 September event at New Delhi, which is believed to announce the new devices, including two smartphones and a smartwatch.
Leaked (courtesy, BGR India) shipment manifests of the new Motorola phone (codename: XT1068), believed to be the Moto G2 units imported from China to India (Bangalore), further provides impetus that Flipkart is getting ready to clear the Moto G stocks before the successor gets released early next month.
Rumours are rife that Moto G+1 aka G2 is expected to sport a bigger 5.0-inch screen with the same HD (1280x720p) resolution, Android OS (most probably v4.4.4 KitKat), Snapdragon 400 series CPU, 1GB RAM, 8.0-megapixel camera and a 2.0-megapixel front camera.
Besides, Moto G2, the company is also expected to announce the Moto X successor, Moto 360 (a smartwatch) and a Bluetooth based earphone.
Moto X successor, X+1 is said to feature 5.2-inch full HD display, latest Android OS, Snapdragon 801 series CPU, 2GB RAM, 12.0-megapixel camera, 5.0-megapixel front camera and a 2,900 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Moto 360 is expected to flaunt 1.5-inch backlit LCD screen with 320x290p resolution and comes protected with Gorilla Glass 3 shield and boasts of value added features such as water-proof certifications (which can withstand underwater for up to 30 minutes), stainless steel case, built-in optical heart-rate monitor, pedometer, voice-activated command response system, vibration alert, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi.
