It is known that "Kumkum Bhagya" actress Mrunal Thakur aka Bulbul has put down her papers and will not be seen on the show January onwards.

Recently, it was reported that Mrunal will make a dramatic exit from the show when her character Bulbul will meet with a tragic accident during her wedding reception. Bulbul will overhear someone planning to kill her elder sister Pragya (Sriti Jha) and will come to her rescue her when a chandelier catches fire and is about to fall on Pragya.

In the process of saving Pragya, the chandelier will fall on Bulbul and her face will be injured beyond recognition. She would later get a plastic surgery.

The sequence will mark the exit of Mrunal and entry of Kajol Shrivastava as the new Bulbul.

It has been reported earlier that Mrunal decided to quit "Kumkum Bhagya" due to the unending track of the lead actors of the show Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya and also because her character didn't have much to offer.

There were also reports that Mrunal has been approached to play the female lead role in Salman Khan starrer "Sultan". However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the same.

Meanwhile, viewers are aware of the fact that it was the antagonist of the show, Aaliya's (Shikha Singh) plan to kill Pragya. It now remains to be seen if the tragic incident will finally expose Aaliya and Tanu's truth in front of Abhi. Will this incident reunite Abhi and Pragya? Only time will tell.
