Popular TV show "Kumkum Bhagya" will see a major change in its cast in the upcoming episodes.

Mrunal Thakur aka Bulbul, who had been thinking of leaving the show for quite some time, has bid adieu and replacing the beauty will be Kajol Srivastava who is pretty pumped about the role.

"I am excited about my role. Mrunal did a good job and yes, I feel the pressure as I step into her shoes," she told The Times of India.

Thrilled to be part of the daily soap, Kajol said how she will essay Bulbul's role the way she wishes to and not copy her predecessor.

"I will play the part my way and not imitate the former actress. It might be an existing character in the show, but for me, it's a new character," she added.

However, a few months ago there were news of Bulbul's character coming to an end with a murder and that the makers were not too keen on replacing Mrunal with anyone.

It appears they have finally changed their minds about the character in question.

In other news, there were reports that Mrunal was to join "Siya Ke Ram" actor Ashish Sharma in his show but that obviously didn't happen.

Now the question remains if the actress will take up another project or go on a break?
